It has been a busy time behind the scenes,and we are delighted by the progress we have been able to make getting ethics into place – with some hiccups along the way – now all resolved. Thank you to everyone who has offered to support the country and local area groups. Your support is much appreciated. Many of you are very busy chatting away about your progress on the test scoring checks and later about local area testing. It’s great to see the support and the celebrations of score check success in the busier What’s App groups.
Congratulations to everyone who has completed their scoring checks! 🙂
Don’t forget you can join your local area conversations on Social Media – you can do this via these links;
When you complete the scoring checks to become a fully fledged tester, you will receive confirmation of having successfully done this as you do the final check online, and your country lead will be notified. You will then be able to be registered into RedCap. RedCap is the state of the art software being used to capture data from individual children tested as part of collecting the normative data. The lessons will remain open and available throughout the project for testers to be able to access them for clarifying any questions or concerns while testing.
We will have cut-off dates each month, at which time any therapists who have successfully completed scoring checks will be submitted by the local EASI Team Country Lead for adding to RedCap. The next dates for cutoff for Redcap are:
- 30th October 2019
- 15th November 2019
- 30th November 2019
- 15th December 2019
- 30th December 2019
- 15th January 2020
- 30th January 2020
To register with Redcap and to complete the process to register as a tester who is ‘ready to go’, you will need to provide us with: a copy of your DBS Check, and HCPC registration number. (For testers in Ireland, Helen Lynch has a different system, for equivalent checks.) This form will be emailed to everyone in the UK.
We now have all the England area leads agreed, these areas have similar numbers of children to be tested as other countries, so this division has been necessary to organize how we support therapists to help make this happen. https://easibritishisles.wordpress.com/2019/10/11/easi-england-update-area-leads/
We are getting lots of repeat queries, and we have set up a page on the website to help answer these FAQ’s. Please post any future questions in your local What’s App and we will update the FAQ page as we go along. https://easibritishisles.wordpress.com/faqs/
The next step is to get together with testers in your local area to gather together your local kits (with the exception of the 3D Pieces; which have been ordered and are being shipped to individuals who have ordered them, with sponsored pieces being available for borrowing on request – more about this later!). See this page on our website for further details of where to buy the pieces for your EASI Kits.
